99 Cents Only Stores® Supports Its Expansion With
the Successful Go-Live of Its HighJump Software® Supply Chain Execution
Solutions
Leading Discount Retailer Counts on HighJump Solutions
to Manage Its Complex, High-Volume Retail Distribution Environment.
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN (Aug. 26, 2003)—HighJump Software, the
premier provider of the industry’s most adaptable, extended supply
chain execution (SCE) solutions, today announced that 99 Cents Only Stores
(NYSE:NDN), a unique deep-discount retailer of primarily name-brand consumable
general merchandise at an affordable, single-price point, has completed
a successful system go-live at its new Texas distribution facility. This
site measures nearly 750,000 square feet and distributes a vast array
of products to the company’s new Texas retail stores. 99 Cents
Only Stores has 168 locations across southern and central California
as well as in Nevada, Arizona and Texas.
HighJump’s newly implemented supply chain execution solutions
are empowering 99 Cents Only Stores to effectively manage the complexities
of high-volume distribution at its Texas facility. According to Robert
Adams, vice president of information systems at 99 Cents Only Stores,
a crucial benefit of the system is its ability to receive incoming goods. “This
is where HighJump really excelled with its adaptable software. Our business
model is based on a lot of opportunistic purchases. So just as our buyers
have to be flexible to quickly purchase the right items, our supply chain
has to be extremely flexible to support this dynamic environment,” said
Adams. “Even when we don’t have any advance warning of incoming
items, we still have to move them through the facility very quickly and
efficiently. HighJump’s solutions have empowered us to do just
that.”
Adams has been impressed with HighJump’s rapid and highly disciplined
implementation methodology. “This was a very smooth, fast implementation,” he
said. “I firmly believe a computer system should never make you
change your business processes—and with HighJump this was a reality.
First, they listened to how we needed to run our business and what made
it unique. Then they put forward a controlled, proven methodology and
best practices to carry out the implementation, which included minor
personalization with HighJump’s adaptability tools. HighJump lived
up to and exceeded all of the expectations that had been set during our
discussions with their customer references. In fact, I’ve never
experienced such outstanding references in the software industry with
any vendor I have worked with over the years.”
”The successful implementation at 99 Cents Only Stores provides
further validation of our rapid, proven implementation methodology for
high-volume, complex distribution environments and is yet another example
of our total commitment to customer satisfaction,” said Chris Heim,
president and CEO of HighJump Software. “We’re excited about
our strong customer partnership with 99 Cents Only Stores and our continued
momentum as the fastest-growing supply chain execution solution provider.”
